Back to Zwartkops for DOE Formula Vee
Can Jansen build on his advantage

After a trip to Mpumalanga, DOE Formula Vee partnered with CIM Lubricants competitors make their way back to Zwartkops Raceway for the third round of their 2026 championship on 12 and 13 June.
Gert van den Berg (DOE Quality Parts & StartMyCar Rhema 2) grabbed the early advantage in the championship standings at the opening round back in March, but a faultless display in the second round at Red Star Raceway by Lendl Jansen (Bull Security Rhema 2) allowed the defending champion to claim the top spot. Jansen holds a 10-point advantage over van den Berg, with Brandon Hills (Mangaza Racing – First 4 Men Rhema 2) just a single point further back.
The leading trio have dominated the podium positions so far this season, with Vaughn Hills (Mangaza Racing – First 4 Men Rhema 2) the only other driver to grab a race podium. He, however, suffered a mechanical problem in the first race of the year, so he is only in fifth place on the log, three points behind Theodore Vermaak (DOE Quality Parts & StartMyCar Forza). Vermaak and Vaughn Hills lead a tightly packed bunch, with Jaco Schriks (Cube Coatings Rhema 2) two points behind Vaughn in sixth. Peter Hills (Mangaza Racing - MXTwo/ First 4 Men Rhema 2) is a further three points back, just a single point ahead of Marcel Blignaut (CIM Lubricants/ Mangaza Racing – First 4 Men Forza), with MD Bester (Mangaza Racing - MXTwo/ First 4 Men Rhema 2) another three points back in ninth.
The next three on the overall championship log are the top three in the association championship. There, James Carter (Rhema 2) leads Anton van der Merwe (VDM Orthotics & Prosthetics HR1) and Raynard van der Linde (Truck City Boksburg/ANA Milling Africa Rhema 2).
As usual, the drivers will have three practice sessions on Friday before getting Saturday’s on-track action underway when they tackle qualifying at 08:00. Their first race, over 10 laps, kicks off the race action for the day at 11:00 with their second, a slightly longer affair over 12 laps, scheduled to get underway at 14:25.
